Very strong movie, simplistic in nature but I have never seen a prison movie done so well, the grittiness was perfect, just shy of tasteless it achieved a great mix of violence and dialogue. You really fell in love with the main character and wished he would get what he deserved because his achievements were inspiring: from the first lessons in class where he utters his first words like a baby who has yet to grow up, then when he starts his own operation. Even the best friend who was probably the only person in the world who he could trust, giving him support as a human being was amazing. I don't think I saw one bad actor in the whole movie. Also the surreal aspects of the movie was handled with great care so it never felt like it was forced in what is a very realistic approach. It ended up enhancing the story by it's subtly.
9.5/10 (0.5 deduction due to the small defect as the story isn't very original or complex, but it's the best of it's genre in my opinion)
